Free BIMI checker

See whether Gmail, Yahoo, Apple Mail and Outlook can show your logo next to your email, and which BIMI requirement is missing. It reads public DNS only; nothing is changed and no email is sent.

How BIMI works

Four things, all at once.

BIMI record
A TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain starting v=BIMI1, with l= pointing to the logo and a= to the certificate.
DMARC enforcement
p=quarantine or p=reject. Gmail also needs pct=100, so the policy covers all mail. Build a DMARC record.
Logo
An SVG file in the SVG Tiny Portable/Secure profile, served over HTTPS at the l= address.
Mark certificate
A VMC or CMC from a certificate authority. Gmail needs one; Yahoo does not.

Provider rules last checked 2026-10-14 against Google’s, Yahoo’s and Apple’s own pages.

Questions, answered

Before you buy a certificate.

Why is my logo not showing?

BIMI shows a logo only when every requirement holds at once: one BIMI record at default._bimi, DMARC at quarantine or reject for all mail, an SVG logo receivers can fetch, and for Gmail a mark certificate; Apple Mail also needs an evidence document such as a VMC. Each inbox then decides for itself; Yahoo also weighs sender reputation, and Outlook shows no BIMI logos at all.

Do I need a VMC or a CMC?

Gmail accepts either a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) or a Common Mark Certificate (CMC), but shows its checkmark only with a VMC. Yahoo needs neither. A VMC requires a registered trademark for the logo.

Does this check read my certificate?

No. It sees whether the record points to a certificate (the a= tag), not which kind it is or whether it is valid. Your certificate authority can confirm what it issued.

Is BIMI required to deliver email?

No. BIMI is optional and changes how a message looks, not whether it is delivered. SPF, DKIM and DMARC are what receivers check before delivering.
